One Bar Applicant Can Use Personal Computer, One May Not

The web page of the Louisiana Supreme Court reports that the below-quoted order was entered on July 13:

APPLICATION FOR PERMISSION TO TAKE THE BAR EXAMINATION WITH PERSONAL COMPUTER GRANTED:

2009-OB-1546 IN RE: [NAMED APPLICANT]
VICTORY, J., would deny the request.
KNOLL, J., would deny the request.
JONES, J., would deny the request.

And from July 16:

APPLICATION FOR PERMISSION TO TAKE THE BAR EXAMINATION WITH PERSONAL COMPUTER DENIED:

2009-OB-1616 IN RE: [NAMED APPLICANT]
JOHNSON, J., would grant the petition.
WEIMER, J., would grant the petition.
GUIDRY, J., would grant the petition.

Update: Linked here are the Florida Bar rules on personal computer laptop use. New York also permits the use of personal laptop computers on the bar exam. (Mike Frisch)
