Investigators later learned that Laurie wanted to leave Draegeth and that she was recently kicked out of their house. Investigators did not discover any signs that she was suicidal and was “actually excited about a trip planned to (a) foreign country with her daughters,” according to the complaint.

KOLD 13 reported
The Oro Valley man who admitted to fatally shooting his wife more than five years ago has been sentenced to probation for seven years.
According to court documents, Trevor Stark Draegeth’s prison sentence was suspended, and he will serve 100 hours of community service per year of probation.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, Draegeth pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
He had been facing a first-degree murder charge after his wife Laurie was found dead in the family’s Oro Valley home on Feb. 12, 2019.
Two young children were found safe in the home, located in the 200 block of East Brearley Drive. Draegeth wasn’t arrested until about a month after the shooting.
Draegeth claimed his wife fired two shots at him and then shot herself. Her body was found face-up on her bed with a gunshot wound to her head.
Draegeth said after his wife was shot, he sat down near her body for about 10 minutes. He admitted he moved evidence but claimed he did it to make his wife’s body look “pretty.” Investigators said he also tried to wash the gun, his shirt, and blanket from the bed with a bar of soap.
Authorities said Draegeth shot his wife and tried to make it look like suicide.
