At Least A 12-Pack
Ohio Disciplinary Counsel has filed a complaint against the former Law Director of the City of Bucyrus.
Respondent had been subject to a stayed two-year suspension for two convictions for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (“OVI”) and failing to appear for a matter causing it to be dismissed.
The stayed suspension had been revoked in October 2024 as a consequence of a probation violation.
The present charges involve another driving offense where a person had seen him driving erratically
The witness followed respondent for approximately four miles before observing respondent’s vehicle drive off the side of the road into a ditch, go airborne, roll, and land in a field.
He told the responding deputy that he had drunk “At least a 12-pack.”
His blood alcohol content was tested at 0.328, over four times the legal limit.
He pled to a charge of “high-test OVI per se” and received a sentence that included jail time. (Mike Frisch)
