A Michigan attorney has been reprimanded for traffic offenses

Respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a Stipulation for Consent Order of Reprimand With Conditions, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by Tri-County Hearing Panel #12. The stipulation contained respondent’s admissions that she was convicted by guilty pleas of: (1) on January 29, 2024, Allowing an Unlicensed Person to Drive, a misdemeanor, in violation of MCL/PACC 257.326, in People of the Township of Northville v Kama Naisargi-Rasik Patel, 35th District Court Case No. 23V02030A-OT; and (2) on April 11, 2024, Operating While Intoxicated Second Offense, a misdemeanor, in violation of MCL/PACC 257.6251-A, in People of the State of Michigan v Kama Naisargi-Rasik Patel, 15th District Court Case No. 23F5-5685-FD, and that these convictions constituted professional misconduct.

Based on respondent’s convictions, admissions and the parties’ stipulation, the panel found that respondent committed professional misconduct when she engaged in conduct that violated a criminal law of a state or of the United States, an ordinance, or tribal law pursuant to MCR 2.615, in violation of MCR 9.104(5).
