Sandusky Judge Charged With Array Of Misconduct: Pinky Toes, The Titty Fairy, Blazing Saddles And Much More
Ohio Disciplinary Counsel has filed a complaint alleging that a judge of the Sandusky Common Pleas Court violated judicial ethics rules by
harassing a pregnant employee, fostering an inappropriate and unprofessional work environment, using a racial slur within earshot of a criminal defendant, and engaging in lewd and vulgar characterizations of a child-rape case.
The allegedly harassed employee was a 20-year old woman who he had hired as his assignment coordinator.
When she returned from two sick days, the judge allegedly said
You need to man up and get some balls to push through your pregnancy symtoms.
There was a reference to her “pouch” by the court bailiff and the judge telling her “Just wait until you get a visit from the titty fairy.”
When she objected to that comment, he replied in part “can we talk about the butt fairy?”
She was hesitant to go to Human Resources because the judge had referred to that person as “pimple dick.”
As to professionalism, the judge allegedly used the term “snatch chat” rather than “Snapchat” in jury instructions. A footnote explains that “Snatch is a derogatory term for a woman’s vagina.”
Further, he issued a law enforcement badge and a Glock 19 9mm semi-automatic firearm to his bailiff and did not discipline her when she posted a Facebook reel she had created at work.
The reel showed her dancing “to an explicit hip-hop song while wearing her badge and firearm” and was posted on her public Facebook page with the hashtag “PistolPackingMama.”
He allegedly nicknamed a probation officer “B.B.” for Big Boobs.
He created his own titles and acronyms for probation officers such as Adult Supervision Specialist (“A.S.S.”) and Pretial Investigation Supervision Specialist (“P.I.S.S.”) and “used these titles on the record in court.”
He allegedly did not refer to probation officers by their proper names; rather, he called them names like “Man Bun,” “New Guy,” “Guy Formerly Known as New Guy,” “Mockery” for Anthony Mercuri and Erica Mueller was “Angel of Death” for reporting illegal conduct of a former office employee.
To celebrate the relocation of the probation office, he gifted a female probation officer a Bang Energy drink and told her she could tell people she “had banged a judge.”
Other allegedly inappropriate comments involve a suggested threesome with his spouse and a female prosecutor, comments about female attire and that a young female attorney “sat sexy.”
An alleged image and text to employees: “I’m not always a dick. Just kidding. Go fuck yourself.” The image appears in the charging document.
Alleged comments to a sheriff department employee who was exposed to drugs in a corrections facility and required life-saving treatment
Why didn’t you stand up and say anything during the sentencing, you dumb ass?”
There are more allegations of harassing and inappropriate comments to staff including a comment to a victim advocate wearing lollipop earrings that “they look real enough to lick” and “do you want to sqeeze my ball” while holding a stress ball at a technology conference.
When travelling out of town with a fellow judge, he allegedly told the court administrator that “they were going drinking and chasing whores.”
Gun in chambers and a regular comment to staff: “If you repeat this, I’ll call you a liar. If you repeat this, I will shoot you in the pinky toe.”
The alleged racial slurs relate to comments and quotes from the movie Blazing Saddles that were overheard by an African American defendant. He allegedly quoted lines from the film in a southern accent, sang Swing Low, Sweet Chariot (“featured in the movie”) and stated that his “favorite part” of the movie was when
someone approaches a group of people, tips their hat and says “Good morning, n****r.”
The defendant who overheard these comments was (understandably) “very upset.”
Finally, there are allegations relating to his conduct of a rape trial which he had allegedly called the “baby cocksucker case” and texted a video of a woman eating a banana in a group text sent during the trial.
The defendant was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole; an appeal is pending. (Mike Frisch)
