A three-year suspension has been imposed by the Arizona

Clients with a marijuana dispensary license issue sued Respondent for malpractice and encountered difficulty contacting and serving him, leading to a bar complaint

When Ms. Matherly received this automated response, she would call Respondent but could never reach him. Respondent never responded to any of the emails either.

Bar Counsel sent Respondent a screening letter regarding Ms. Matherly’s bar charge on September 13, 2022. Respondent failed to respond.

On November 10, 2022, all discipline matters involving Respondent were stayed. The stay was lifted on April 4, 2023.

After the stay was lifted, Bar Counsel sent follow-up letters to Respondent requesting a response to Ms. Matherly’s charge on May 12, 2023, and June 9, 2023. Respondent failed to respond.

As a result

The Bar filed a Petition for Order to Show Cause on October 4, 2023. A hearing was held before the PDJ on November 2, 2023, at which Respondent appeared. Respondent acknowledged his response was overdue, stated he intended to respond within two weeks, and confirmed he had all information he needed to respond. The PDJ found Respondent in contempt and ordered that his summary suspension could be purged by compliance with the subpoena. To date, Respondent has not complied.
