Breaking News: Jeffrey Clark Allegations May Proceed

District of Columbia Hearing Committee No. 12 has just entered an order to schedule a prehearing conference to schedule a hearing in the much-delayed charges against Jeffrey Clark, apparently rejecting the suggestion that his appeal of the federal district court order remanding the case to the D.C. disciplinary system deprives the committee of the authority to proceed.

The charges were filed nearly a year ago.

There is no indication on the bar’s web page that Respondent Clark has filed a substantive answer to the complaint.

The committee notes that the remand order has not been stayed. The committee further concludes that a collateral subpoena enforcement proceeding provides no basis for further delay.

The prehearing will be held on zoom on July 12 at 1 pm.
