A Stop At An Adult Entertainment Club

Ohio Disciplinary Counsel has filed a complaint alleging misconduct by an attorney who had been appointed guardian ad litem for four children whose mother (B.F.”) allegedly “had substance abuse issues and had overdosed on heroin with the children present at home.”

The children had been removed from the home.

Respondent made a visit to B.F.’s home and thought he smelled the odor of marijuana, which B.F. denied.

While driving to his office, he saw B.F.’s car parked outside Christie’s Cabaret in Brunswick, Ohio “an adult entertainment club located several blocks from respondent’s office.”

He went in and found B.F. , who worked there as an exotic dancer.

Despite B.F.’s substance abuse issue, respondent bought her a beer.

He gave her $40 and she felt “uncomfortable.” She did not drink the beer.

He then visited her in her boyfriend’s home and presented her with two written “options” that allegedly lacked a factual basis.

When the interactions were presented to the court by an attorney appointed to represent B.F., Respondent was removed as GAL.

After a new GAL was appointed, custody of the children was granted to the sister of B.F.’s late husband. (Mike Frisch)
