Murder Charge Draws Interim Suspension
An attorney accused of murder has been temporarily suspended by the Nevada Supreme Court
We conclude that the documentation before us demonstrates that Telles poses a substantial threat of serious harm to the public based on the murder charge and recent trust account transfers suggesting potential mishandling or misappropriation of client funds. For these reasons, his immediate temporary suspension is warranted under SCR 102(4)(b). We further conclude that Telles’ handling of funds should be restricted.
The order is entered IN THE MATTER OF DISCIPLINE OF ROBERT RICHARD TELLES,.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal covered the charges
On Thursday, a grand jury indicted him on one count of murder with a deadly weapon of a person who is 60 years or older.
Telles, who was a Democratic elected official, was arrested on Sept. 7 on suspicion of murder in the fatal stabbing of German, 69, a longtime journalist in Southern Nevada. German’s body was found on Sept. 3 — he had been stabbed seven times.
