Clark Secrecy Effort Fails
A significant order was entered by District of Columbia Board on Professional Responsibility Chair Lucy Pittman that in the main denies relief sought by Jeffrey B. Clark in his pending bar prosecution.
The partially-redacted order denies a request to seal all proceedings pending a redacted event, notes a protective order has already been entered and “largely reject[s]” his proposed redactions to earlier-filed pleadings.
The attached pleadings recount a brouhaha over whether Respondent evaded service which he characterizes as a “baseless smear.”
I should have noted that the number assigned to the case by Disciplinary Counsel – No. 2021-D193 – means that the investigation that led to charges began in mid 2021.
This also means that the extensive criticism of Disciplinary Counsel over declining to initiate so-called “political” investigations was entirely unfounded.
