Relief Denied

The Michigan Attorney Discipline Board denied relief of varying types sought by a Respondent in a pending matter

Respondent has filed a series of motions pertaining to disqualification and related matters, many of which are hybrid motions for reconsideration, with very slight modifications in each motion, and have contained baseless allegations or insinuations of bias and unfairness. This matter is once again before the Board, this time on respondent’s above-titled motion, seeking disclosure of (1) information as to why his discipline file was reassigned to three different Attorney Grievance Commission attorneys, and (2) “a sworn written statement as to [recused Board Member Alan Gershel’s] relationship, contacts and/or associations with Barry Seifman, or the communications he has had in regards to this case, Seifman or Guzall and when and with whom he communicated in regards to this case, Seifman or Guzall . . .” and requests that the Board once again stay the proceedings before the hearing panel until the requested disclosures are made.

Respondent’s motion contains no factual or legal basis to support his request for relief, and is wholly irrelevant to the question of whether respondent committed misconduct.
