A .478 Blood-Alcohol Content

A recent complaint filed by the Illinois Administrator

 In the morning of May 5, 2018, Respondent consumed alcohol by drinking from bottles of vanilla extract and a 750ML bottle of Absolut vodka. At 6:45 a.m. Respondent purchased four additional bottles of vanilla extract from a Jewel-Osco store in Wilmette.

At about 11:00 a.m. on May 5, 2018, after consuming alcoholic beverages, Respondent drove her Lexus sport utility vehicle. At the intersection of Lake Avenue and Ridge Road in Wilmette she rear-ended another vehicle.

When Wilmette Police officers arrived at the scene, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Respondent’s breath. The officers also noticed that Respondent’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. Respondent admitted to the officers that she had consumed “a lot” of alcoholic beverages and was going in and out of consciousness. The officers found a nearly empty 750ML bottle of Absolut vodka and the four bottles of vanilla extract she recently purchased in Respondent vehicle.

The officers called for an ambulance and Respondent was taken to Evanston Hospital. At the hospital, Respondent’s blood was drawn. Respondent registered a .429 blood-alcohol concentration. She also submitted to a DUI kit and registered a .478 blood-alcohol concentration…

On July 24, 2019, Respondent pled guilty to count four of the indictment, a Class 2 felony of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol…
