Bensalem’s Lot
An attorney who had used the power of attorney of an elderly woman to fund his gambling activities was disbarred by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
He testified that he had her authority to “borrow funds to gamble at multiple casinos” with the understanding that he would repay her.
Shockingly, that uncorroborated testimony was deemed incredible.
She, on the other hand, “credibly and unequivocally” testified that she was unaware of his gambling with her funds.
There were 172 transactions (which he had not reported in an accounting to her) totalling nearly $100,000 that were paid to Parx Casino in Bensalem PA and the Borgata Hotel & Spa in Atlantic City.
He had returned a portion of the funds. (Mike Frisch)
