He Called It (Elbow) Macaroni

The most transparent bar disciplinary system in the United States – Ohio – has posted information concerning six matters scheduled for hearings and a petition for reinstatement.

One case involves charges against an attorney convicted of misdemeanor criminal mischief.

According to the complaint, the attorney had printed his own UPC barcodes, gone to Walmarts and affixed them to “low-cost items including, but not limited to, sweet potatoes and elbow macaroni.”

He them proceeded to a U scan self-checkout where in two transactions he paid a total of $27.35 for goods valued at $367.21.

Included were electronic items and rugs.

His answer admits the allegations save for the value of the items, which he estimates at  $125. (Mike Frisch)
