“Shoot For The Stars”
A dispute over $3,577.93 to repair a defective horizontal steel I-beam in a condominium garage led to a two-year suspension by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
The attorney was admitted in 1976 and had no prior discipline.
The misconduct as described by the Disciplinary Board involved an eight year campaign of frivolous appeals on behalf of the aggrieved association member.
The client was entirely satisfied, having authorized the attorney to take the case “up the ladder” and to “shoot for the stars.”
A judge found his demeanor “exemplary” and “professional” but that he was “stubbornly disobedient” of court orders and “won’t take no for an answer.”
The board had proposed a five-year suspension. (Mike Frisch)
