An Illinois Hearing Board

At the time of the hearing Respondent was 81 years old and had been a licensed attorney for 56 years. After graduating from law school, he worked at law firms and in the corporate arena until he started his own practice, which grew to nineteen lawyers. He also became active in starting and running businesses. Since the late 1990s Respondent has been a solo practitioner and spends at least half his time devoted to business activities. He described himself as a person who comes up with unusual, out-of-the-box solutions to problems.
