From Partner To Complainant
A grievance filed by an attorney against her former law partner (as well as a number of client-generated complaints) ha resulted in a disciplinary complaint filed by the North Carolina State Bar.
The complaint alleges that the law firm’s policy required the two named partners to agree on expenses.
The respondent is accused of using $7,000 of a firm line of credit without permission, falsely stating that an accountant had approved payment for his leased Jeep Grand Cherokee and other misrepresentations.
He also is charged with lapses in client matters including an alleged false statement to a client and the State Bar.
The answer to the complaint is linked here. (Mike Frisch)
