Without License
The Illinois Administrator has charged a lawyer with practicing without an Illinois license while employed with a Saint Louis law firm
Between 2007 and 2014, Respondent entered his appearance (along with other attorneys at the Foley & Mansfield firm) in at least six cases in St. Clair County, Illinois, and at least 3,081 cases in Madison County, Illinois.
In each of the cases described in paragraph 4 above, Respondent falsely represented on the entry of appearance form that he was admitted to practice law in Illinois and he used an attorney registration number which he represented was his Illinois attorney registration number.
The attorney registration number Respondent used on the entry of appearance forms belonged to another attorney who did not know Respondent and did not know that Respondent was using her attorney registration number.
In some of the cases described…above, Respondent drafted, signed, and caused to be filed additional pleadings other than an entry of appearance.
In some of the cases described…above, Respondent made court appearances on behalf of clients.
At no time did Respondent disclose to the courts, his clients, or opposing counsel that he was not licensed or authorized to practice law in Illinois. Respondent also intentionally misled Foley & Mansfield by representing to them that he was licensed to practice law in Illinois.
The attorney also is charged with false statements that he was admitted pro hac vice to the Administrator. (Mike Frisch)
