More Than A Brief Lapse In Judgment

An attorney who had misappropriated client funds, lied to clients and failed to cooperate with the bar investigation was disbarred by the Minnesota Supreme Court.

The court displayed little sympathy for the attorney notwithstanding the absence of prior discipline

Harrigan committed three acts of misappropriation over the course of two years, involving amounts totaling over $130,000. This constitutes more than a “brief lapse in judgment” or a “single, isolated incident.”

The matters involved vulnerable clients who suffered as a result of the thefts. (Mike Frisch)
