Misconduct On (Not In) The Court

An Illinois attorney has been publicly reprimand as a result of a conviction for misdemeanor battery.

The circumstances of the offense is set forth in the report of a hearing board:

On June 7, 2011 at approximately 3:00 p.m., Respondent,  17-year-old Daniel Etman and others were playing a pick-up basketball game at  the Highland Park Recreational Center located in Highland Park, Illinois.

During the course of the basketball game, Respondent and Mr. Etman  argued about a disputed foul call. As Respondent and Mr. Etman approached each  other, Respondent pushed Mr. Etman about the chest and kicked him.

Part of the criminal sentence was help for anger management. (Mike Frisch)
