Police Officer Firing For Marriage To Gang Member Affirmed

A police officer who was terminated from her employment claimed that her “constitutional right to marry and to engage in intimate association” had been violated.

The Maryland Court of Special Appeals rejected the contention and affirmed the termination as supported by substantial evidence.

The Baltimore City officer had wed a convicted murderer and member of the Dead Man, Inc. , a prison gang. He had previously been a member of Natural Born Killers.

She was charged with four counts of violating police department General Orders. (Mike Frisch)
