Attorney Suspended For Violating Disqualification Order

An attorney has been suspended for 30 days, followed by probation, by the Minnesota Supreme Court.

The attorney was admitted to practice before the Prairie Island Tribal Court, where the misconduct took place.

She had previously served as counsel for the Prairie Island Indian Community, which led to her disqualification in her first case as a solo. She violated the court order of disqualification and made a false statement to the tribunal.

The sanction was affected by her expressed lack of remorse. (Mike Frisch)
