The California State Bar Court has recommended a stayed three-year suspension with probationary conditions of an 81 year old attorney who had engaged in misconduct in several matters.
The attorney has suffered for 60 years from a condition known as tic douloureux, which is characterized by chronic and debilitating facial pain.
He also had a traumatic brain injury as a result of a courthouse fall.
The court found that the conditions were a significant mitigating factor with respect to sanction. (Mike Frisch)
