From Suspended To Disbarred
The dim view that Pennsylvania takes of unauthorized practice is on display in a recent disbarment case.
The attorney was suspended in 1996 for failure to complete CLE obligations. He nonetheless continued to practice, and was suspensed for a year and a day in 2005.
Here, his practice of representing a banking institution in numerous commercial transactions after the disciplinary suspension led to his disbarment.
Now, any further practice can only be sanctioned by jail for contempt. That does happen sometimes. (Mike Frisch)
