A Failing Math Grade
A bar applicant who has tried since 1992 to pass the Mississippi exam fared no better in his efforts to sue for admission.
The Mississsippi Supreme Court rejected his equal protection argument premised in the contention that a minimum score of 132 on the MBE had been improperly requied:
Basic arithmetic makes obvious that a score too far below 132 on the MBE will be more likely to result in a failing final grade on the overall exam, unless the essay scores are high enough to compensate…this does not equate to a minimum score requirement.
