Recused And Reprimanded

A Montgomery County judge has been publicly reprimanded by the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary.

The judge’s spouse (an attorney) is involved in an ongoing dispute with lawyers that had previously been associated with her law firm.  In response to recusal motions filed by the involved attorneys, the judge posted an order on his web site that made factual averments outside the record and accusations of unethical behavior on the part of the moving attorneys.
