Unconditional Exclusion

The Delaware Supreme Court took disciplinary action against another former Milberg Weiss attorney last week. A report from USA Today describes the attorney’s role in the criminal case:

Known as the “money man,” Bershad collected cash from conspiring partners and distributed it to paid plaintiffs and intermediaries, prosecutors said in court documents.

“Mr. Bershad gave the government the most complete view of the nature, scope, and history of the conspiracy,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Robinson, who recommended Bershad should be sentenced to three months in prison and another three months in a community treatment facility.

The court exercised disciplinary jurisdiction because the attorney had provided legal services in Delaware. The sanction imposed was unconditional exclusion from the practice of law in that jurisdiction. (Mike Frisch)
