Iowa Unifies Disciplinary Offices
The Iowa Supreme Court has announced that it has taken steps to create an Office of Professional Regulation in order to bring the investigation and discipline of lawyers, court reporters and court interpreters within the authority of a single office. The court’s web page states that: “The newly created Office of ProfessionalRegulation will assume responsibility for administrative duties that are currentlyfragmented among three court offices—state court administration, the supremecourt clerk’s office and the office of boards and commissions.”
