A Public Reprimand

A Justice Court Judge who had repeatedly engaged in ex parte communications and had given legal advice to litigants was sanctioned by the Mississippi Supreme Court. The judge had previously been privately admonished for similar misconduct. The judge was reprimanded and suspended for 30 days. The reprimand will be read in open court in the judge’s presence.
