The Software Could Never Be a Member of the Bar Because Character Is More Than a Matter of Font
Joe Hodnicki of our sister blog Law Librarians Blog has a link to a Ninth Circuit opinion holding that a web-based “expert system” used to prepare bankruptcyfilings for a fee made too many decisions to be considered a clericaltool. Accordingly, the court’s view was that the software was effectivelypracticing law without a license.
