Sara Benesh (Wisc.-Milw., Poly Sci.) over at Empirical Legal Studies blog posts on the topic here and657696_supreme_court_1_1 links a new empirical study of their impact and success rates.  The study was done by John Szmer, (UNC-Charlotte), Tammy Sarver (Benedictine), and Erin Kaheny (Wisc.-Milw.).  The ELS post’s comments are interesting, too, as ELS readers suggest better multivariate controls for the type of client or causes that women may be representing.
