Thompson Memo Revised by Deputy AG Paul McNulty
The new DOJ policy, destined to be called The McNulty Memo, is discussed by the WSJ law blog here
and by the White Collar Crime Prof Blog here. It does not abandon the earlier policy so much as centralizes it and creates pre-screening in DOJ. No word yet on whether this move will preempt the proposed legislation by Arlen Specter meant to reverse, and not just reform, the earlier Thompson Memo policy. [Alan Childress]
UPDATE: Much more LPB on the McNulty Pocket Part here. Is it just a PR move?
