Pocket Call

The North Carolina State Bar has filed a complaint alleging misconduct by an attorney in creating a Facebook page titled North Collier Fire Commissioner Set 4 that ostensibly sought to oppose the election of his ex-wife’s divorce attorney but was used as an alleged vehicle to harass his former wife by its content in violation of Florida cyberstalking law.

Respondent was enjoined from contact with his former wife and arrested for an alleged violation by calling her to speak with their daughter on his birthday.

He pled no contest to violation of the injunction and placed on twelve months of probation.

He was thereafter arrested for a probation violation for “allegedly inadvertantly calling his former wife with a pocket dial”  which led to a 30-day jail sentence and a required course in anger management. (Mike Frisch)
