The Maryland Court of Appeals has accepted a joint petition to reprimand an attorney for conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.

Although the order does not specify the offending conduct, it may relate to this 2014 order of the Delaware Supreme Court reprimanding the attorney for misconduct while appearing before the Court of Chancery on a pro hac vice basis.

Respondent represented several parties before the Court of Chancery where the court had entered a Seizure and Injunction Order placing the insurance company under the control of the Delaware Insurance Commissioner. The court enjoined the filing of litigation against the insurance company in any other forum. Respondent acted in contempt of the Seizure and Injunction Order by filing suit in Maryland state court against the insurance company after the injunction had been entered.

The Delaware order states (see footnote 55) that Maryland had dismissed these charges; the Maryland order does not specify the conduct that violated the Rule.  (Mike Frisch)
